Get Moving!

As part of my #onesimplechange campaign, April is officially dedicated to ACTIVITY!

The American Heart Association suggests that kids get at least 60 minutes of moderate intensity exercise per day. Parents should get at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity exercise per day.

It’s good for your heart.

It’s good for your lungs.

It’s good for your bones.

It’s good for your family!

So what are you waiting for?

Oh! You need some ideas? Okay…

12 Ways to Get Moving

  1. These are definitely activities that my kids love and now that the snow has melted and the warm-ish temps are here we are outside as much as possible. Hula hooping and dancing are two favorites!

  2. I remember cranking up the stereo in our living room, and having an at-home dance party with my family when I was younger. So much fun, and such good exercise! It’s probably why I go salsa dancing now that I’m older :)

  3. LOVE these ideas! I don’t have any kids (yet), but I remember doing almost all of these as a kid myself, and it was so much fun. Looking back, I really value the “active” time I had with my parents growing up, and this is a great list for all parents out there!
